We at Aberdeen
Projector Hire specialise in renting high quality digital video projectors
& projection equipment from our central Aberdeen base. Our equipment
is of a high quality and our range of SVGA & XGA video projectors
can be used with a wide range of input sources. Typical uses would be
to connected to the external monitor output on a laptop computer showing
a boardroom powerpoint presentation, or while connected to a DVD player
for a slideshow. DVD movie players, VHS cassette players, Games consoles
(Xbox or Sony PS2) and most any device capable of plugging into a TV
screen can be used as an input source in conjunction with the appropriate
connectors & cables. Our data projectors have a variety of inputs
(data cable, phono cable, scart & S-Video).
General usage of modern LCD data projectors could hardly be simpler.
It is generally a case of plug in the mains power and your chosen input
device and press the power button. Most projectors now have an auto-detect
facility which will cycle through all the inputs until it finds one
in use. The optimum position for a projector is twice as far back from
the screen as the screen is wide. ie. for a 1 metre wide image the projector
should be 2 metres back, with the bottom of the projector located in
line with the bottom of the screen. Adjustment is possible using the
zoom lens & digital keystone facilities, but as a general rule you
won't go too far wrong by following the above guidelines. You will require
a steady surface on which to locate the video projector. Our current
range of SVGA projectors are very compact & light, approx 30cm x
30cm x 8cm & 3 kilos. These will produce a light ouput of 1700 ANSI
lumens which is generally suitable for most boardroom presentation type
situations.
For applications with larger room & audience we would recommend
an XGA install grade projector with a 2600 ANSI lumens output. Our current
rental stock of XGA data projectors is made up of Phillips CClears which
are approxiamately 40cm x 25cm x 10cm and still weigh under 5 kilos.
XGA native screen resolution is 1024 pixels x 768 pixels which equates
to what most people will have as a computer screen configuration in
non-specialist applications.
Most modern audio-visual projectors are only equipped with very basic
speakers so if you have an application which requires audio playback
then some sort of external speaker system will be required. For small
applications we generally recommend that customers buy a small set of
PC speakers, but for larger applications we can advise on supply of
larger systems.
With regard to cables, generally not much more than a couple of 13 amp
sockets (one for the projector & one for the playback device) will
be all that is required. Projectors do take 1-2 minutes to warm and
display the image at full brightness. When usage is completed they require
a 1-2 minutes after being turned off to allow the fan to cool the unit
prior to packing it into the padded shoulder case provided.
We would usually supply appropriate cables, connectors, mains cables
& extensions free of charge with a hire. As we are not a shop, we
would ask that you visit us by arrangement only. Please call Campbell
on 01224 261310 with any queries or questions. If you intend to use
the multimedia projector in conjunction with a laptop, notebook, Mac
or PC computer we ask that you bring the laptop with you to enable correct
configuration of devices as we give you a brief run through of the features.
Most problems are found to be related to the output of the laptop computer
rather than the input of the projector but this is easily rectified.
